Cinema du Parc presents “Cadenza” by Margo Godin from September 1st to 29, 2010
In this recent series of abstract paintings, I pursue my search of a freer and more spontaneous artistic expression.
Although inspiration requires action, the colours, the light and the shapes observed in nature, as well as various musical rhythms all influence the composition.
The liquid acrylic paint is applied in a free and spontaneous gesture. I then take advantage of the unexpected from which I construct my composition, but always remain willing to change course. The close dialogue that I strive to establish with the painting also guides my artistic expression. In each painting, I discover the many creative possibilities offered. Each painting is a new challenge and an unpredictable process. Painting in this manner offers me great freedom although it requires that I remain flexible.
