Exhibition: por-trait

por-trait
[pawr-trit]

–noun
1.A likeness of a person, esp. of the face, as a painting, drawing, or photograph:
A gallery of friendly portraits.
[French, from Old French, image, from past participle of portraire, to portray; see portray.]

The interaction between the camera and its subject dictates the relationship between the photograph and its observer. By manipulating the former, one can change the way the latter is perceived. It is only when we take into account both of these qualitative elements that a truly accurate portrayal can be achieved.
