FESTIVAL DU FILM BRÉSILIEN DE MONTRÉAL
3 OBÁS DE XANGÔ tourne autour de l’amitié inconditionnelle entre Jorge Amado, Dorival Caymmi et Carybé, trois artistes qui ont été les principaux responsables de la création d’un imaginaire de l’identité bahianaise, qui perdure encore aujourd’hui. Tous trois affirmaient que la force de leurs œuvres résidait dans la capacité à documenter ce qu’ils voyaient dans les rues : la résilience du peuple du candomblé, le pouvoir des femmes, l’omniprésence de la mer. Les livres de Jorge, les chansons de Caymmi et les peintures et sculptures de Carybé ont consolidé « une manière d’être au monde » propre aux Bahianais et influencé les générations d’artistes qui leur ont succédé

BRAZILIAN FILM FESTIVAL IN MONTREAL
3 Ministers Of Shangô revolves around the unconditional friendship of Jorge Amado, Dorival Caymmi, and Carybé, artists who were largely responsible for creating an imagery of Bahian identity that persists to this day. The three believed that the strength of their work lay in documenting what they saw on the streets: the resilience of the people of Candomblé, the power of women, the omnipresence of the sea. Jorge's books, Caymmi's songs, and Carybé's paintings and sculptures consolidated “a way of being in the world” for the people of Bahia and influenced the generations of artists that followed them.
